This is a big screen for the money! Fan everything in its price range away. If you need a general screen now and can get it cheap (discounts, free shipping, no tax) I recommend it. ViewSonic's VA2231WM 22-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor with Speakers, DVI and Energy Star 5.0 (Black)
ViewSonic VA2231WM 22-inch display gives a beautiful picture, good resolution, 1920 x 1080 native, relatively poor speakers (but if you cared about sound quality, you would have a separate set of descent speakers anyway). It comes with both a DVI cable and a VGA cable and a cable to support the cause your audio to the monitor speakers. The base was really easy to assemble without tools, all other settings are also trivial.
If you continue with speakers that cost less than $ 20 you will be pleased with the space savings of the internal speakers. If you "need" high quality audio, so just let the speaker portion of the monitor unplugged, you will still come out better (and you will not see the speakers anyway).
The performance of this monitor looks good statistically, even if I have it down to my laptop via a Targus Docking Station (DVI), which connects via USB to the computer, I am confident that I can not get all that stellar performance in this way, but there is no purpose for me.
This monitor is highly recommended, it has a good price here on Amazon.com. Buy one for yourself.
